- During the second world war, the local area was "occupied" by Canadian troops. Tweedsmuir Camp was one of the largest bases and after the war this became a temporary home for "displaced persons". This website has been constructed by members of a family who lived there and are trying to record a full history of this "forgotten corner". The museum has in store a collection of camp artefacts which we hope to display in the future.
